Pipe Relining

What is it?

Customers we come in contact with usually only experience one of two things;

  1. Blocked and tree root affected drains
  2. Leaking drains, sewer drains or stormwater drains

The traditional method of excavation and replacement is still a good option for customers should they be willing to have their gardens removed, surfaces cut and trenched excavated through their property to access and replace sewer or stormwater pipework.

However, pipe relining has been globally utilised and developed over the last 30 years to prevent the need to perform intrusive works to rectify leaking and/or tree root affected pipework on residential and commercial properties. We are here to save you money and mess.

These days, the pipe relining systems are so advanced, liners can negotiate complex sewer and stormwater pipework systems to produce seamless new pipes within the old pipes impervious to tree root ingress and create water tight seals against leakage.

What we do:

  • First and foremost, we provide a complete and personable service, providing honest evaluations, on-site quoting, prompt commencement of works, comprehensive communications with our customers before, during and after the pipelining works.
  • Full CCTV inspection to determine if pipe relining is the correct solution to a pipework fault.
  • High-pressure jet drain cleaning services, high-volume high-pressure jet for difficult to remove tree roots and robotic cutting equipment for the almost impossible to remove tree roots – On occasion, steel reinforcement bars from concrete slabs during construction of buildings have been found to enter pipes through careless construction, which we have successfully removed using our robotic cutter.
  • Pipes sizes that can be relined by Cut Price Pipe Relining range from small diameter 40mm pipes up to 375mm pipes – these can be up to 100 meters in length.
  • We are one of the only pipe relining contractors servicing the residential sector to use steam to cure our liners outside of Europe or America. Steam curing expedites the curing process reducing down-time and inconvenience to our customers.
  • We only install water marked Australia approved pipe lining products.

How it Works

Our pipe relining solution comprises of a non-woven polyester felt liner and a specially developed 2-part epoxy resins mixed and then impregnated into the liner. The resin in the liner is then calibrated to create a minimum 3mm wall thickness once cured.

Our system of pipe lining utilises the technically advanced installation method of inversion. We insert the impregnated liner into an inversion drum. Air pressure is then applied into the drum resulting in the liner inverting into the drain. This process completely lines the inside of the host pipe.

Once the liner is inserted into the drain, heat is applied to cure the liner during a time frame specific to the resin used. Different resins are used for short pipelining repairs than longer pipelining repairs as epoxy resins are thermo-reactive, which means they require specialist selection for the job requirement.

From time to time during the pipelining process, connecting junctions can be re-lined over. The junctions are reinstated by either a robotic cutter or specialist branch reinstatement tools.

Connecting junctions can also be repaired by installation of a ‘tee’ liner or satellite junction repair, as the industry calls it. This is a common repair in Sydney as many junctions buried underground have inspection points allowing tree root growth into the drain. A junction liner is installed to renew inaccessible or damaged junctions.
