RFA can undertake health, safety and environmental (HSE) assessments of tender documents on behalf of the client in order to provide advice and recommendations on the suitability of contractor systems. Contractor Risk Profiling includes the design of the company’s pre-qualification requirements and alignment to existing business procedures. Risk Profiling enables your workforce to confidently engage contractors who are capable, certified and proven with regards to WHS management.

RFA can facilitate Safety in Design (SiD) workshops in conjunction with the nominated Principal Contractor and/or on behalf of the client. The SiD workshops are undertaken to comply with legislative duties and the clients own WHS/OHS Management Systems, where applicable. The approach typically includes the identification of hazards, assessment of risk, risk control and review across the project lifecycle from design through to demolition.

The RFA team have held/facilitated SiD workshops and reviewed SiD registers for a large range of projects spanning from $1m to $1b in project cost.

RFA has inhouse expertise to assist our clients in addressing and managing health and wellness in the workplace. With a recent study documenting 87% of the workforce is stressed, and 12% report this stress to be unmanageable, the health and wellness of your employees is more important than ever. Qualitative Risk Assessment

RFA can undertake a review of exposure scenarios across a wide range of industries and workplace scenarios to anticipate, recognise, evaluate and control these risks. We can undertake a review of your workplace to identify risks including:

  • Physical hazards (noise exposure, vibration, heat stress, UV exposure)
  • Chemical hazards (asbestos, volatile organic compounds, welding fumes)
  • Biological hazards (mould, viruses, bacteria)
  • Ergonomic hazards (workstation setup) and
  • Psychological hazards

The risk assessment is used as a baseline or tier 1 investigation to identify exposure scenarios that may impact on the health and safety of workers and to determine where resources need to be allocated to quantitatively assess the risk (e.g. monitor the exposures).

Monitoring and Quantitative Risk Assessment

Subsequent to undertaking a qualitative risk assessment, RFA can design a sampling program and undertake on site monitoring services. These services will be designed to capture worker exposure during a typical working day using recognised and validated methodologies. Monitoring can be undertaken of exposures to:

  • Noise

  • Indoor Air Quality (temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, etc.)
