Design Consultation
- A 90 minute in-home meeting where we discuss various elements such as the project scope, your lifestyle, functional requirements, budget considerations, and aesthetic preferences. My aim is to create spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also practical and tailored to your unique lifestyle, so this consultation will serve as a valuable starting point to kickstart your design journey.
- Effective communication and a strong connection between the client and designer are vital ingredients for a successful design project and a fulfilling design journey. This meeting will help us to establish if we are a good fit.

- Upon understanding the intricacies of your project, I’ll provide you with a detailed proposal, breaking down each phase of the scope of work. Rest assured, I am entirely flexible and can work on as much or as little of your project as you wish.
- I will also provide you with a Suggested Budget based on the scope of works we have discussed. This is a very rough guideline to indicate the sort of budget you should be allowing for PC Items and general allowances for trades, though their actual quotes could vary quite broadly once we get in to the specifics of the project.
Conceptual Design
Conceptual Design
- I will prepare a scaled floorplan of the existing space to indicate all proposed demolition and areas for construction or joinery installations. This is a very useful early stage summary of proposed works to present to Strata in the case of apartment renovations.
- I will draw elevations of proposed kitchen, bathroom and joinery designs along with conceptual ideas for the finishes and fixtures, including a mood board with inspirational images to convey design intent. There is sufficient detail in these drawings to obtain a trade estimates for joinery and stonemasonry.
- I will give conceptual indications of the look for the flooring, doors and windows, drapery and colour palette to ensure we are aligned prior to researching specific options during the next phase of work.
- After discussing your feedback on suggested designs I will create 3D visuals to illustrate the overall design so that you know directionally what the renovation will look like before we proceed to the next phase of works in specifying finishes.
Design Documentation
Design Documentation
- I will provide 3D renders, physical samples and a detailed Design Documentation package for use by trades, which can include:
- Full specification lists (FF&E) of fixtures, fittings and equipment / appliances and lighting, with up to 20% in shared trade discounts.
- Comprehensive joinery design drawings including 2d elevations and 3d renders.
- Joinery Finishes Schedule specifying colour / laminate / veneer, selected hardware, accessories and handles.
- Tile & Stone Schedule
- Paint Schedule
- Lighting and Electrical plans
- Plumbing rough-in plan
- Trade quotes for build and joinery according to the scope of works.
Procurement
Procurement
- I will take care of the placement and coordination of orders for flooring, appliances, bathroom fixtures, lighting and so on. With my industry connections, I can secure advantageous trade discounts of up to 20% on retail purchases, often covering my procurement fee and more. This translates to valuable savings in both time and money as I handle this process on your behalf.
- Deliveries will be arranged to site or to your builder as required.
Construction
Construction
- During the construction phase I offer a full Project Consultancy service where I liaise with trades on your behalf to monitor progress, resolve any issues and oversee design intent. I charge a monthly retainer for my consultancy services during this period based on the complexity of the project – this allows for a specified number of hours per week spent liaising with yo, the client, any relevant trades or retailers, and attending site meetings as required.
Handover
Handover
- I will prepare a handover folder to ensure you know how everything works – this is also a valuable resource when planning to sell. This will include items such as:
- Details of contractors and designers associated with the build/renovation/remodel
- A copy of the design plans
- All fixtures and finishes schedules, including tile, stone, fabric and paint schedules
certificates related to the build – e.g. waterproofing certificates - Warranties, operations manuals or operating guides for all appliances or electronically operated items in the home
- Cleaning and maintenance guides – e.g.how to care for the stone bench or counter tops
