Clinical Group Supervision

Group clinical supervision creates an understanding, safe space for learning, where care professionals can reflect on their careers, professional development and client interactions.

Shared growth, shared success: Advancing professional practice together.

These sessions enhance the collective proficiency of care teams in addressing the needs of those they serve. They foster a sense of belonging, enrich perspectives, stimulate new ways of thinking, and deepen reflective practice.

Empowering the individual through group clinical oversight

Clinical oversight delivers support to frontline and human services teams, focusing on clinical decision making, crisis management, links to professional ethics and guidelines and collaborative development of professional practice. This can result in enhanced team cohesion, growth, and the achievement of collective goals. This is a collaborative effort to fully realise the team’s potential, alongside addressing systemic and organisational constraints that may hinder progress.

Lauren creates an environment where practitioners can strengthen the core of their team’s dynamics, identify areas for development and bridge gaps in understanding.

This process is vital for fostering a strong, unified team that is empowered to succeed in increasingly demanding roles.

Team growth for unity and impact

Fostering team growth is at the core of enhancing client outcomes, ensuring career longevity, and boosting staff retention. Lauren is dedicated to helping each practitioner recognise and celebrate their individual contributions to the team’s collective success through group clinical supervision.

By nurturing a strong team identity and employing trauma-informed clinical supervision strategies, Lauren lays the foundations for fulfilling, sustainable carees, alongside improved client outcomes.

By harnessing and combining the unique strengths of each practitioner, Lauren works towards creating or reinforcing team cohesion and effectiveness. This collective effort fosters a harmonious work environment where staff feel valued, supported, and motivated to continue their invaluable work, leading to lasting impacts on both clients and the team’s well-being.

Fostering resilience: Vicarious trauma and burnout management

Addressing vicarious trauma and burnout is essential for maintaining a healthy, resilient workplace team. Through psychological education, Lauren aims to deepen the team’s understanding of these challenges and ability to recognise the signs and effects of vicarious trauma and burnout. By creating an environment where individuals feel supported in sharing their experiences and challenges, group clinical supervision encourages a unified approach to manage and reduce the impact of these occupational hazards.

Ensuring career and vocational longevity in the face of vicarious trauma and burnout involves a proactive approach to symptom management, impact mitigation, and recovery planning. Lauren works together with teams to develop tailored strategies that address current areas of collective risk and a shared understanding of impacts through trauma-informed clinical supervision.

Beyond words: Integrating
creative practices into trauma informed supervision

Part of what makes Lauren’s clinical group supervision sessions so effective is the embrace of play and creativity, tailored to address the unique needs of those working with trauma. Incorporating creative activities such as drawing, modelling with plasticine, storytelling and interpretation serves a dual purpose:

  1. It activates the creative parts of the brain, offering a soothing counterbalance to the emotional and psychological demands of working with trauma  material in supervision.
  2. These creative outlets help participants remain grounded and fully present, by engaging the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex in the brain. This activation significantly enhances engagement in the supervision process.

This approach not only bolsters mental and emotional well-being but also enriches the learning environment, making it more dynamic and effective for participants. This option is currently only available for face-to-face services.
